Rajasthan has always held a special place in my
life, so when I was scheduled to travel there recently, I was quite looking
forward to the trip. It was a three-day trip and I went about appointments as
usual. A lot of my readers were asking me to write a post on some of the talks
and seminars I’ve been a part of so I thought this trip would be a good place
to start.
I reached Rajasthan late on the 29th of August and prepped
for a couple of meetings the next day.
It was a bright sunny morning as
always and after a quick morning routine I headed to meet Professor Bhatia ,
(Vice Chancellor, Poornima University) and Dr. Prabhat Pankaj, Director,
Jaipuria Institute of Management for the convocations held in their respective
institutions. It was pleasant to meet the vibrant young graduates who will soon
shape the face of our country.
Speaking at MNIT
Later, I gave a talk at the HCM Rajasthan State
Institute of Public Administration on “Challenges & Opportunities in
Aerospace and Defence”. I feel the opportunities to explore in these arenas are
tremendous, with the burgeoning of IT as an industry in the nation.
I can proudly say, Defence and Aerospace have seen
new leaps and bounds and our space missions are on a global scale now. The
audience during this discourse comprised of civil service trainees, civil
servants both retired and in service, academicians and trainees. I felt like
this was a relevant subject to discuss especially with the recent developments
in these fields using indigenous methods.
My next lecture at MNIT was on the topic “Empowered
Youth - Key to India’s Transformation”, after which the enthusiastic staff
showed me around their Material Research Centre (Lab).
The lab was well equipped and updated with new
technologies relevant to research.

During my visit to Bikaner, I visited the Ajit
Foundation and their Science Centre , and discussed ideas regarding solar
energy and water harvesting techniques. I also visited the Saraswat Foundation
function at Dunggargarh and moved on to Jaipur post that.
Though a short trip, it was quite eventful and
fruitful and gave me glimpses of the developmental processes underway in the
State of Rajasthan.
Below are a few glimpses from my trip .
I hope you all liked this post, it was definitely
different from what I usually share with my readers, do let me know if you
would like to see more such posts on my blog and media. :)
A special mention and thanks to Dr . Ashok Bapna for the pictures and report of my trip.
